Travel Retail Marketplace (TRMarketplace) will connect buyers and suppliers from the comfort of their offices (or homes) during a week-long event to take place on 28 September – 2 October.

TRMarketplace will also play host to a virtual ceremony for the 2020 consumer-voted Travel Retail Awards.

As reported, the TFWA announced today (12 May) a decision to cancel the World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (28 September – 2 October), having cancelled the Asia Pacific event that would have taken place this week.

TRBusiness chose deliberately to hold off making this announcement until the above news regarding TFWA was confirmed.

Available for all categories, The TRMarketplace will allow each supplier/brand access to a dedicated ‘brand hub’, where they can showcase their respective product portfolios. Brands can upload all relevant documentation for visitors to browse and download (access restricted). Brands will even be able to facilitate the launch of new products.

With a fixed price to exhibit of GBP£4,495 (ex VAT) – for every company regardless of size – TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions believe that this opportunity is accessible to all.

Buyers, airports, cruise lines, border stores and airlines will be able to gain free-of-charge access to the TRMarketplace as visitors. To register as a visitor, click here.

Each brand representative can schedule video conferences with retailers and other partners. The number of brand representatives is unlimited. Irrespective of your preferred video conferencing software, all of them are integrated into the event app, alleviating the need to install any third-party add-ons.

The number of concurrent video conferences that can take place is also unlimited for each brand.

The TRMarketplace will invite users to take part in daily webinars, where expert moderators and prominent DF&TR executives will dissect pertinent issues facing the industry as a result of Covid-19. Sessions will be relevant to all stakeholders and channels, including airports, airlines, ferries & cruise, border stores and others.

TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions have partnered with leading Swiss research company m1nd-set to be the official consumer insights partner for the event. M1nd-set will provide essential and up-to-date data, collected exclusively for TRMarketplace.

M1nd-set Owner and CEO Peter Mohn commented: “As the event’s official research partner, we are fully focused on understanding the travel and shopping behaviour of consumers as soon as the current travel restrictions are lifted.

“We think that this is a fantastic and accessible initiative created by TRBusiness and Bluedog, which will enable the travel retail industry to be fully prepared to meet shoppers’ needs and expectations when travel bans are lifted.”

Users can build their meeting schedule in the app and keep this up-to-date and managed in one centralised place. Connecting via a click of a button on LinkedIn and other social media channels, brands will also have the opportunity to meet all industry press in the dedicated media hub.

“TRBusiness knows that exhibitions, conferences and networking events are critical to developing new business and maintaining existing business relationships,” commented Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook, Joint Managing Directors and Owners of TRBusiness.

“Without many pivotal industry events taking place this year, DF&TR has been forced to ‘adapt & survive’ through other means. This sophisticated, yet simple new platform is accessible to all and provides a lifeline for many businesses.

Nick King, CEO and Founder, Bluedog Productions added: “We’re firm believers in allowing the industry to find its feet again, so it is important for us to ensure that all brands can be a part of this wonderful experience in the face of Cannes not taking place this year.”

More information, including a schedule of events, to follow shortly. To find out more about exhibiting, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]
