As reported, the TFWA announced on 12 May its decision to cancel the event, having cancelled the Asia Pacific event that would have taken place this week.

TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions announced the launch of its new iOS, Android and web-based exhibition platform for the duty free & travel retail industry, earlier this week.

The meeting and networking platform will connect buyers and suppliers from the comfort of their offices (or homes) during a week-long event and will also play host to a virtual ceremony for the 2020 consumer-voted Travel Retail Awards.

TRBusiness chose deliberately to hold off making its announcement until the TFWA confirmed their decision to cancel the Cannes event.

“This sophisticated, yet simple new platform is accessible to all and provides a lifeline for many businesses,” say Janice Hook and Nigel Hardy, Joint Owners and Managing Directors, TRBusiness.

Available for all categories, The TRMarketplace will allow each supplier/brand access to a dedicated ‘brand hub’, where they can showcase their respective product portfolios. Brands can upload all relevant documentation for visitors to browse and download (access restricted).

Brands will even be able to facilitate the launch of new products which they may well have had planned for Cannes.

With a fixed price to exhibit of GBP£4,495 (ex VAT) – for every company regardless of size – TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions believe that this opportunity is accessible to all.

Retailers, airports, cruise lines, border stores and airlines will all be able to gain free-of-charge access to the TRMarketplace as visitors.

The TRMarketplace will invite users to take part in daily webinars, where expert moderators and prominent DF&TR executives will dissect pertinent issues facing the industry as a result of Covid-19. Sessions will be relevant to all stakeholders and channels, including airports, airlines, ferries & cruise, border stores and others.

TRBusiness received a tidal wave of cross-industry support for the inaugural Travel Retail Connect (TRConnect) Covid-19 webinar, which aired on 5 May.

TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions have partnered with leading Swiss research company m1nd-set to be the official consumer insights partner for the event. M1nd-set will provide essential and up-to-date data, collected exclusively for TRMarketplace.

More information, including a detailed schedule of events, to follow shortly. To find out more about exhibiting, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
