TRMarketplace event week NOW OPEN

By Michael Barrett |

TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions are delighted to announce that the industry’s inaugural TRMarketplace digital forum is now officially OPEN FOR BUSINESS. The webinar programme will conclude on Friday 2 October, however the platform remains open for a further six months in a product showcase and chat capacity. See the TRMarketplace website for more details.

The ‘Knowledge & Insights’ programme will kick off with a welcome keynote session this morning (Monday 28 September) 9am UK time.

The session entitled ‘Embracing and Leading through Change’, which has been kindly sponsored by Dubai Duty Free, will feature an impressive lineup of guest speakers, including Tanja Dik, Director of Consumer Products & Services at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport; Ramesh Cidambi, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Duty Free; and Simon Kemp, CEO and Founder Kepios/DataReportal.

The three keynote speakers will set the scene for a dynamic week of networking opportunities and business meetings in addition to our comprehensive ‘Knowledge and Insights’ programme of 20 webinar sessions featuring more than fifty speakers.

TRBusiness and Bluedog Productions have partnered with leading industry consumer research agency m1nd-set to deliver an unrivalled programme of insights across a wide range of category-specific, market-specific (China and Korea) and sector-specific (cruise, inflight, airport and downtown) themes.

In addition, each webinar will feature thought-provoking discussion with industry experts on digital retailing, sustainability in travel retail via the inaugural Travel Retail Sustainability Forum, and an inspiring discussion on the future of the industry in the Travel Retail 2.0 session.

The week will conclude with the official launch of m1nd-set and IWSR’s ground-breaking wines and spirits travel retail data hub ‘1nSpirit’, exclusively at TRMarketplace.

Another of the highlights throughout the week of live webinars will be two exclusive coaching sessions with behavioural change expert Mark Taylor.

In his two-part series ‘Strategies for the new normal’ on Monday and Wednesday, Mark will deliver thought-provoking analysis of some of the major challenges facing the industry today and how companies and individuals can address these to get ahead.

Each category-specific e-learning sessions will also feature recommendations for shop-floor staff – sales associates and brand ambassadors – on how to adapt to post-Covid shopper behaviour, with recommendations from the Institute of International Retail (IIR), the company behind the Duty Free World Council Academy (DFWCA), in partnership with the DFWC.

Registration for the sessions will remain open throughout the week on the TRMarketplace Digital Forum platform (click to access here). Participants can attend the webinars by accessing the ‘Sessions‘ menu and adding them to their personal agenda by clicking on the ‘+My Schedule‘ button. Explanatory video tutorials are available on the event platform here.

Of course TRMarketplace would not be possible without our many sponsors and Brand Hub partners.

An impressive line up of brands (see below) will be showcasing new product launches and seeking to discuss innovation-driven strategies for post-Covid travel retail through the Brand Hubs.

The exhibitors have all invested heavily – with their time and finances – to make the event happen. Buyers and other visitors, for whom access to the platform is complimentary, are encouraged to arrange and accept meetings with the brands and other organisations showcasing via their hubs throughout the week to show support for the industry.

One of the highlights of the week will be the 2020 Travel Retail Awards ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday 29 September at 11am (UK time) and will be immediately followed by a Charity Raffle prize draw, to raise funds for the Litter Less Campaign. Click through the event awards brochure directly below.

The programme is managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to help educate underprivileged children in New Delhi, India about the importance of respecting the environment.

All stakeholders are encouraged to purchase raffle tickets for the Charity Raffle prize draw, which will take place at the end of the Travel Retail Awards ceremony.

Thanks to the generosity of our many brand partners, more than 30 high-value items – ranging from $50 to over $2,000 – can be won by purchasing a ticket.

Tickets are on sale at the Travel Retail Awards website and the prizes can be viewed here.

TRMarketplace has attracted support and praise for its simplicity, ingenuity and accessibility from senior executives across the global travel retail industry. Below are just a clutch of testimonials from the many retailers and brands who have applauded the event.
