Leehom has shared his methods for achieving quality rest while travelling with Tatcha Founder Vicky Tsai.

Unilever-owned skincare and beauty brand Tatcha has *appointed Wang Leehom as Global Brand Ambassador.

The presence of the US-Taiwanese singer-songwriter, producer, actor and film director is designed to strike a chord with the Japanese beauty inspired firm’s growing Chinese audience, TRBusiness has been told.

His international influence will help enhance brand awareness, reinforce the brand’s prestige positioning, and significantly benefit the performance of the travel retail business in the Asia Pacific region.

Wang and Tatcha Founder Vicky Tsai were introduced by a mutual friend almost a decade ago.

They struck up a bond over their shared interest in holistic health and helping communities through music and rituals of wellbeing.

INDIGO OVERNIGHT REPAIR

Having experienced the benefits of meditation, Wang worked with his preferred meditation app to translate recordings into Chinese and offered a free-of-charge recording to help anyone suffering from insomnia.

He has used his profile to help those in need, including in 2003 when he co-wrote the song ‘Hand in Hand’ with David Tao in collaboration with 87 other Chinese artists during the SARS epidemic.

Five years later, he donated all of the proceeds from a book to a relief fund following the Sichuan earthquake in 2008. He also recently wrote an uplifting song during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The announcement of the appointment comes as Tatcha prepares to launch its new night treatment, Indigo Overnight Repair.

Vicky Tsai, Found and CEO, Tatcha said: “What we’ve learned after over a decade of studying skin health, is that there is a very strong connection between the skin and the mind.

“They communicate and impact one another in every part of our day. We chose Leehom as an ambassador because he uses his platform to encourage others to care for their wellbeing, from skin to soul.

“Like Leehom, Tatcha wants everyone to feel beautiful in their own skin, because loving your skin is loving yourself.”

*UPDATE: Wang Leehom’s contract as a Global Brand Ambassador for Tatcha expired on 18 December 2021.
