Women in Travel Retail (WiTR) is to host the next in a series of webinars entitled ‘Career progression and female leadership in the spirits industry’ on 25 May 2021.

The webinar will begin at 12:00 UK BST and end at 13:30 (07:00 – 08:30 USA EDT / 12:00 – 13:30 UK BST / 13:00 – 14:30 CEST (Europe) / 15:00 – 16:30 Dubai / 19:00 – 20:30 Singapore).

It will be led by Aude Bourdier, Vice President, Managing Director, Brown-Forman GTR and Catherine Restrepo, Founder and CEO, Syzgy Strategies, an innovate brokerage agency.

WiTR says that Bourdier has extensive experience in management roles in global liquor companies, but started as a promotion and sales executive in Singapore,

Restrepo started her career in New York with Pernod Ricard, before forming her own business dedicated to business development, consulting and direct selling of wine, spirits and jewellery for airlines, cruise lines and airports.

As reported, WiTR undertook a brief survey among members and non-members earlier this year to determine how the industry forum for women can better service its community.

The survey generated a ‘high level of response’ and many ideas were presented, including a request for desiccated webinars which was among the most popular.

WiTR immediately responded with a series of webinars to support women in their DF&TR careers and collaborated with Thriving Talent (an agency with experience in helping companies build a diverse, inclusive and high-performing workforce), for the first two webinars.

Taking place in March, the first webinar taught attendees how to combat imposter syndrome. At the second webinar in April, participants looked at ways they could thrive through the pandemic, covering areas such as work/life balance and managing a remote team.

Sarah Branquinho, Chair, WiTR said: “We are thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the first two webinars. If one good thing has come out of the Covid crisis, it is that it has brought us together in a way that we have never seen before.

“We do hope that everyone enjoys and benefits from the next webinar and we look forward to a time where we can have these discussions in person.”

The webinar is open to members and non-members of WiTR working in the travel retail industry.

Future webinars will take place on 28 June, 29 July and 9 September and cover a broad range of subjects from doing business in Asia to honing and applying skills and sustainability.
