Women in Travel initiative

By Administrator |

A group of talented women in the industry have got together to create?Women in Travel? (WiT), to provide a forum to share learning and experience and encourage the high standards of excellence that successful women

can bring to the travel retail business.
The first forum for this new group will take place on Monday morning from 07.45 to 09.15 at this year?s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, preceding the Conference. It will be held at the Majestic (Salle Royan) where William Grant & Son will sponsor a light breakfast buffet.
The founding team for WiT includes Ylva Persson, Global Travel Retail Director, William Grant & Sons Ltd; Sarah Branquinho, Business Relationships Director, BAA; Anouska Forte, Director/Deputy Editor, The Travel Retail Business; Jaana Heino, Silja Line/Tallink; and Cathryn Davis, Travel Retail Marketing Consultant.
Viewpoints from women attending the first meeting will be incorporated into the new group which hopes to achieve the following:

1) Meet at each of the major duty free and travel retail conventions, organising a female speaker who demonstrates outstanding achievement from within or outside the trade;
2) Arrange smaller meetings, subject to demand, to further business relations and propose future business partnerships;
3)Create an online site where news will be posted, supported by The Moodie Report;
4)Any donations or financial surplus from WiT will go towards charity.

In a statement the joint founders said: ‘If you love working in the travel retail business and are interested in finding out more, please join us at this first gathering to determine the level of interest and start the network.’ For more information, contact Cathryn Davis [email protected]
