Amman Airport, Jordan.
As expected, Groupe ADP has signed a contract to take exclusive control of AIG, the concessionaire that has historically operated Amman Airport in Jordan.
Groupe ADP has invested $267m in the contract to take exclusive control of the Airport International Group, alongside the co-shareholders of Meridiam, ASMA Capital Partners B.S.C. (c), acting in its capacity as investment manager for IDB Infrastructure Fund II and Edgo.
IMMINENT TRANSACTION HIGHLIGHTED LAST MONTH
In a statement, ADP, which has been a 9.5% shareholder in AIG, through ADP International since 2007, says it will be able to fully consolidate the financial statements of the concessionaire company.
This transaction was fully expected, having been covered by TRBusiness back in November. [See link: https://www.trbusiness.com/regional-news/middle-east/adp-consortium-confirms-new-plan-to-acquire-aig-in-amman/131564]
It also follows the successful completion in obtaining the Government of Jordan and AIG’s Lenders consents.

RELATIVELY NEW TERMINAL
As reported earlier, Queen Alia Airport welcomed 7.4m passengers in 2016 and was named the best airport of its size (5-15m passengers) in the Middle East by the Airport Council International (ACI). This was based on the results of its 2016 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey – one of the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark programmes.
Queen Alia International Airport first opened way back in 1983 and is located 35km from Jordan’s capital city of Amman and spans approximately 19m square metres
It features two runways and a relatively new Foster + Partners-designed terminal, which was inaugurated in March 2013 under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah.
