Bahrain Duty Free’s sales soar 15.3% in first quarter 2018

Bahrain-DF-shops-leadBahrain Duty Free Complex, operated by Aer Rianta International (ARI) registered total sales of BD 8.6m ($22.8m) for the three months ended 31 March 2018; an increase of 15.3% over BD 7.5m registered for the same period last year.

 

During a board meeting, Chairman Farouk Yousuf Al Moayyed disclosed that net profit grew by 25.1% to BD 2.7m ($7.1m) in the same period. Last year the company registered sales of BD 2.2m ($5.8m).

 

Company Managing Director, Abdulla Buhindi added: “Profit from investments recorded an amount of BD 1.3m compared to BD 878,000 last year, representing a growth of BD 393,000 or 44.8%.

“The investment portfolio increased by 5.1 % to BD 39.6m.”

 

Buhindi also highlighted that the company’s diversification strategy and its pledge to improve quality of goods as well as focus on marketing campaigns and customer services had a significant impact on sales growth during the period.
