Beirut becomes world-first airport stockist for Imperial Brands’ myblu
By Charlotte Turner |
Beirut Duty Free is the first airport location in the world to offer myblu vape products from Imperial Brands, reinforcing its two-decade long partnership.
“The combination of more than 20 years of partnership with Imperial Brands, with over 25% market share driven mainly by the success of Davidoff in the region, made Beirut the perfect location for the much anticipated launch,” says Imperial.
“With its one step click-and-vape system, convenient & sleek kit design and wide flavour range of pre-filled liquid pods, myblu has been successfully launched in several domestic markets and it is now time to fly this offer to the travel retail environment.”
The launch, signposted with the tag line ‘something better in Beirut Duty Free’, was supported by a prominent placement in-store and sales force support.
EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS
Myblu is displayed at the centre of the main shop, on an exclusive pillar displaying the kits and the different flavour pods.

The launch, signposted with the tag line ‘something better in Beirut Duty Free’, was supported by a prominent placement in-store and sales force support.
“Brand ambassadors are ready to assist smokers on the myblu device and the wide flavour portfolio that comes in different nicotine levels and a range of enticing tobacco, fruity and menthol flavours,” says Imperial.
A promo bundle including two additional pods with every starter kit purchase also gives the chance for consumers to ‘explore the myblu world’. Initial results have exceeded Imperial’s expectations and ‘prove the big potential blu has in the duty free environment’, insists the company.
“Such a well-executed launch was possible thanks to the strong collaboration between PAC, MidExport and Imperial’s Global Duty Free & Export team,” adds Imperial Brands. “Since the idea took off, Mr Ramzi Nader, Purchasing Manager, and his team at PAC, have been extremely supportive to all Imperial’s projects.”
For its part, Imperial, is keenly focused on delivering the best Next Generation experience for PAC consumers.
Maria Eugenia Sánchez-Lozano, NGP Manager GDF&E says: “The regional team led by Vangelis Nikolopolous have done an incredible job in making this happen, and thanks our strong teamwork and learnings exerted from Beirut we can now fully focus on expanding blu’s footprint in duty free”.
As mentioned by Sánchez-Lozano, this launch is just one of numerous duty free retail roll-outs around the world and plans are already in place to roll out myblu to more airports over the next six months.
