DDF kicks off 40th celebrations with Shop & Win Gold promotion

Dubai Duty Free has released a commemorative gold bar to celebrate its milestone 40th anniversary.

Dubai Duty Free (DDF) has selected the first 40 winners in its ‘Shop & Win Gold’ promotion, as the travel retailer begins its 40th anniversary celebrations in earnest.

A draw was held yesterday (29 November) in Concourse B of Dubai International Airport in the presence of DDF officials, including Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Cidambi, Joint Chief Operating Officer Salah Tahlak and several DDF managers.

The promotion, which is running over four weeks (20 November – 17 December), is open to departing and arriving passengers travelling through Dubai International and Al Maktoum International Airports, plus online buyers at dubaidutyfree.com.

Close to 14,000 customers in week one

Customers spending Dhs400/US$108 with DDF – either in a single transaction or in accumulation via several transactions – will receive an e-coupon to enter the draw that they can scan via a unique QR code on the receipt and follow the instructions to register.

Upon entering, shoppers will have the chance to win a Dubai Duty Free 40th Anniversary 10-gram gold bar.

Limited to 888, the commemorative gold bar commemorates DDF’s milestone and has been exclusively designed and produced for DDF by PAMP Swiss.

The bars feature the 40th anniversary logo with the years 1983–2023 imprinted on the front and the Dubai Duty Free logo on the reverse.

Winners in the draw will be notified through the registered email address. The next draw dates are 6, 13 and 20 December.

In the first week, the promotion attracted 13,801 registered customers, equivalent to 63,320 e-coupons entered into the draw.

DDF expects to surpass US$2 billion in annual sales this year.
