Dubai Duty Free names two new Millennium Millionaire winners

An American and a UAE national are the latest people to win the Dubai Duty Free (DDF) Millennium Millionaire promotion. Two further winners have been announced in the DDF Finest Surprise promotion.

Online purchases pay off

Mr G Marwan, a 59-year-old American national based in Dubai, was awarded US$1 million in DDF’s Millennium Millionaire Series 424, with ticket number 2528, which he purchased online on 17 May.

A Dubai resident since 2016, Mr Marwan has been a regular participant in the DDF promotion for the past four years. The father of one works as a general manager for an auto repair company.

“I don’t know what to say,” he said, when he learned of his win. “Thank you and God bless Dubai Duty Free.”

DDF Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Colm McLoughlin, COO Ramesh Cidambi, Salah Tahlak, Joint COO, Sinead El Sibai, SVP – Marketing, Sharon Beecham, SVP – Purchasing and Zayed Al Shebli, SVP – Loss Prevention and Corporate Security conduct the latest Millennium Millionaire draw.

Joining Mr G as a fellow US dollar millionaire is Mr Jaber Alzaabi, a 33-year-old UAE national based in Ras Al Khaimah. He won US$1 million in the Millennium Millionaire Series 425 with ticket number 0142, which he purchased online on 27 May.

Also a father of one, Mr Alzaabi works for the UAE Ministry of Defence. He started buying tickets to the DDF promotion five months ago.

“Thank you very much Dubai Duty Free,” he declared. “It’s only my seventh ticket to your promotion and I cannot believe to win this early. I will continue to participate in the hope of making it second time lucky.”

The draws were conducted by DDF Executive Vice Chairman & CEO Colm McLoughlin, COO Ramesh Cidambi, Salah Tahlak, Joint COO, Sinead El Sibai, SVP – Marketing, Sharon Beecham, SVP – Purchasing and Zayed Al Shebli, SVP – Loss Prevention and Corporate Security.

New Finest Surprise winners

Following the Millennium Millionaire presentation, the Finest Surprise draw was conducted for a car and a motorbike.

Mr Tarek Nizameddin, a 49-year-old French national based in Abu Dhabi, won a Mercedes Benz S500 (Selenite Grey) car, with ticket number 1207 (purchased online on 24 May), in the Finest Surprise Series 1841.

A resident of Abu Dhabi for 21 years, Mr Nizameddin has been a regular participant in the DDF promotion for 10 years. He is a father of three and works as the CEO of AG Facilities Solutions.

The final prize was secured by Mr G Kuppusamy, an Indian national based in Chennai. He won a BMW R 1250 R (Racing Blue Metallic) motorbike in DDF’s Finest Surprise Series 540.
