Dubai Duty Free targets 2021 sales of $960m despite persisting challenges

By Charlotte Turner |

Dubai Duty Free says it expects to end the year with annual sales of Dhs3.5 billion/US$960 million, following its successful 72-hour shopping event in December which net sales of Dhs87 million/US$23.878 million.

The three-day anniversary sale running from 18-20 of this month, which was also extended to its Home Delivery customers and Click & Collect offer, resulted in sales that were 24.51% higher than the same period last year.

Despite persisting challenges in 2021, Dubai Duty Free said it achieved ‘highlights’ both in terms of its sales as well as strengthening its position ‘as an innovative and expanding retail operation’.
