More pictures have surfaced following the inauguration of the new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) at Bahrain International Airport (scroll below for a picture gallery).

As reported, Bahrain Duty Free yesterday (28 January) unveiled its duty free and speciality retail concessions measuring just over 3,000sq m and 1,500sqm, respectively, as part of its awarded contracts.

The new terminal lifts the airport’s capacity to 14 million passengers per annum and is linked to operator Bahrain Airport Company’s Airport Modernization Programme (AMP) in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.

In departures, uprated beauty and fashion & accessories zones, including watches & jewellery, anchor the new commercial spread.

Customers can browse luxury boutiques from the likes of Michael Kors, Emporio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Victoria’s Secret, Hugo Boss, Montblanc, Tumi and others.

These accompany WHSMith and Boots units, while arrivals shoppers can visit Relay from Lagardère Travel Retail, Nasser Pharmacy and other services.

National carrier Gulf Air operated its maiden commercial flight from the new airport terminal on 28 January – flight GF2130 to Delhi on one of the latest Airbus A320neo aircraft.
