Dubai Airport fine wines operator Le Clos has landed The Macallan’s exclusive 62-year-old whisky presented in a Lalique crystal bottle, representing the fifth and penultimate decanter to be released from the sell-out series, The Macallan in Lalique Six Pillar Collection.
The 62-year-old, priced at AED 100,000 (USD 28,000), is the second oldest Macallan ever released by the distillery since its foundation in 1824 and it comes in a limited edition of 400 individually numbered decanters.
Ben Odgers, General Manager of Le Clos, says: “The partnership between Le Clos and The Macallan is exceptionally strong, and one of which we are very proud. Le Clos’s offering of this single malt Scotch whisky to connoisseurs is an exciting moment for us as it underlines our status as a leader in the luxury beverage retail market.”
David Cox, Director of Fine & Rare Whiskies for The Macallan adds: “This collection has inspired interest from connoisseurs and collectors since its inception in 2005. There are very few distilleries that have the aged stock profile that we do, and we are privileged to have the opportunity to produce a magnificent 62-years-old, originally filled to American oak sherry seasoned casks in November 1950.”
Le Clos has five outlets at Dubai International T3 Departures: the flagship store is located at gate A1 in Concourse A, the original outlet is adjacent to gate B8 on Concourse B, plus units inside the Emirates First Class Lounges and between the Emirates First and Business Class Lounges in Concourse B.
Le Clos’s newest outlet is located at Al Hamra Cellar, Ras al Khaimah.
