By Charlotte Turner |
Yesterday, Lebanese National, Dany Zahra, won the grand prize at Abu Dhabi Duty Free’s (ADDF) ‘Sensational Big Ticket Draw’, in collaboration with DFS. The ‘Sensational Big Ticket Draw,’ which began in July 2012, entails one grand prize of $1,000,000 and 14 other prizes, amounting to $200,000.
The ‘Sensational Big Ticket Draw’ boasts the highest value prize, to be held over a one-month period in the region; and is a special limited edition to the traditional monthly ‘Big Ticket Draw,’ which offers a AED 1,000,000 grand prize and 14 other prizes totalling AED 500,000.
Last week, ADDF reported its first half sales at Abu Dhabi Duty Free had jumped by +29.1% to AED 380.2 million (US$103.5m), ahead of a traffic increase of +22.8% to just over seven million in the same period. For the full year, the public joint-stock company – wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government – is forecasting sales of over AED770 million ($210 million).

Dan Cappell, Senior Vice President Commercial at ADAC said: “Abu Dhabi Duty Free is once again delighted to partner with DFS, particularly for the Sensational Big Ticket Draw.
LARGEST GRAND PRIZE
“This draw offered the largest grand prize in monetary value to be distributed in one month in ADAC history. Following the great success of the Sensational Big Ticket Draw, and as part of ADAC’s commitment to delivering high-quality initiatives to passengers and the public, ADAC along with DFS, will continue to offer and deliver additional innovative promotions and raffle drawings.”
The Big Ticket Draw, organised by DFS since 2008, has been running since the inception of Abu Dhabi Duty Free in 1992, and has made it possible for passengers, airport visitors and public to win incredible prizes.
The tickets are sold via online websites and are also available at key ADAC locations, including Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain Duty Free, Ghweifat Duty Free, Abu Dhabi City Terminal and the ADNEC Expo Check-in.
