In what the company says is 'a first for the Middle East', R?my Cointreau Global Travel Retail has partnered with Dubai Duty Free to launch the new interpretation of its iconic Cointreau bottle – created
by the fashion designer Catherine Malandrino.
The new execution was first unveiled in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport during Paris Fashion Week and yesterday the Malandrino for Cointreau Limited Edition launch took place in Dubai International Airport's Terminal 1 where it is being featured in a special promotion until June 15. In addition, the brand will be making 'guest appearances' in major travel retail and duty free outlets around the world during 2009.
Describing the new limited edition bottle, R?my-Cointreau said: ‘The square shouldered bottle of the quintessentially French liqueur, which has hardly changed for 130 years, has been dressed by Malandrino, a designer considered by many to be the most American of modern French women. Her ultra-feminine silhouettes have captured the hearts of New Yorkers and fashionable women the world over in the last decade.
‘Malandrino for Cointreau plays on the most feminine symbol of the United States, the Statue of Liberty, haloed with the stars of the American flag. The silhouette remains unchanged, but a lacework of finely chased metal embraces the bottle and the logo is a starry jewelled version above Catherine Malandrino?s signature.’
Yesterday's launch of the new presentation took place at Dubai International Airport in the presence of Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free (DDF), George Horan, Deputy Managing Director, DDF, and Val?ry M?ary, Europe South Manager, R?my Cointreau Global Travel Retail.
