Middle East Exclusive, the luxury exhibition in Dubai, has ended on a high with the organisers declaring themselves satisfied.
According to Channels Exhibitions, the early figures on the last day suggested that visitor numbers were on target and Channels says that the quality of attendees was much higher than in previous years.
Delegations from the region's key duty free retailers were present along with a wide selection of buyers and agents from the local market.Justin Boutros, Managing Director of Channels said: ‘It has been a very good week. I am so impressed with the feedback we have had from the visitors and exhibitors and we have laid down the foundations for the exhibition to grow in the years to come. This show offers something different to any other event in the duty free calendar.
‘This is a relaxing environment where suppliers can have quality time with the buying teams and show their products in the right environment. We have been listening to what the industry needs and responding accordingly.’
Commenting on the show, Abu Dhabi Duty Free, General Manager, Niveen Ibrahim said: ‘I am very impressed with the show and I have noticed that the standard has been raised this year. I anticipate that this show will grow in the future.
‘During my visit I have seen many new products from the fashion jewellery, confectionery and cigarette companies. We send the whole team to this event and it is important to be here to see what is going on and to be innovative.’
Channels reports that more than 600 brands -global and regional – took part in the three-day show at Dubai World Trade Centre, including a mixture of returning exhibitors and new companies who are just entering the market.
Next year's Middle East Exclusive 2007 will take place from December 4 to 6 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
