[UPDATED] Qatar Airways Group has announced its strongest financial performance in its 28-year history, reporting a net profit of US$2.15 billion for the 2024/25 fiscal year, a 28% increase from the previous year.
The results, boosted by robust growth in passenger demand and retail initiatives including Qatar Duty Free, reflect the airline’s resilience and strategic vision under its Qatar Airways 2.0 strategy, according to Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer.
The group’s record-breaking profit, up $500 million from 2023/24, is attributed to a focus on profitability, customer experience and operational efficiency.

Total revenue reached $23.4 billion, a 5.3% increase, fuelled by a 7.8% lift in passenger numbers to 43.145 million in 2024/2025.
“Hamad International Airport’s retail ecosystem, anchored by Qatar Duty Free, continues to elevate the passenger experience,” said Al-Meer. “Our focus on luxury and innovation has transformed HIA into a global retail destination.”
Key retail highlights include the expansion of Oryx Galleria, a luxury boutique featuring brands like Chanel, Rolex, and Gucci, and the introduction of Souq Al Matar, a Qatari-inspired marketplace showcasing local artisans.
These initiatives contributed to a 12% increase in duty free revenue, and processing over 15m individual transactions.

Qatar Duty Free delivered a 12% rise in sales turnover year-on-year, processing more than 15 million individual transactions.
Doha’s Hamad International Airport saw passenger traffic rise 7.7% to 52.5 million from April 2024 to March 2025, supported by a US$1.5 billion expansion that has increased capacity to 65 million annually.
The airport’s retail offerings were enhanced with new luxury boutiques and experiential zones.
Qatar Airways projects 5-7% passenger growth in 2025/26, with retail revenue expected to rise 10% as HIA targets 55 million passengers.
