MAC and Qatar Duty Free celebrated National Lipstick Day

MAC and Qatar Duty Free celebrated National Lipstick Day with a Hamad International Airport activation.

National Lipstick Day falls on 29 July, and to mark the occasion Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics for a lipstick-themed activation at Hamad International Airport.

From 27 July to 6 August, passengers through the Doha hub have the opportunity to experience demos and expert consultations.

MAC artists are on-hand to help customers personalise their lipstick purchases, with a DJ providing the backdrop.

Customers can also take part in a ‘ring toss’ game to win prizes. In addition, guests receive a free full-size lipstick with every purchase.

Social media influencers from across beauty and luxury have been invited to join the festivities and share the event with their followers.

A full airport takeover will promote the ten-day event, with visuals displayed across 800 screens.

National Lipstick Day: ‘Powerful and special’

“MAC National Lipstick Day is the one day we have to celebrate every lipstick we’ve ever had that has made us feel powerful and special,” said Rick Whotte, Senior Vice President/General Manager, MAC Cosmetics, Travel Retail Worldwide.

“We are so thrilled to be partnering with Qatar Duty Free to bring MAC Cosmetics’ iconic lipsticks to life with our famously fun retail animations and look forward to travellers discovering the perfect shade with MAC.”

“An unforgettable celebration of colour, style, and creativity!”

MAC parent Estée Lauder Companies bolstered its travel retail team at the start of the year. It appointed Matthieu Cheyrou as Vice President/General Manager, Clinique, Travel Retail Worldwide. Tracy Xu was named as the division’s Vice President/General Manager for the Origins, Aveda and Lab Series brands.
