Qatar Duty Free has partnered with Nestlé International Travel Retail to launch an exclusive KitKat Japan activation at Hamad International Airport, combining Japanese-inspired retail theatre with exclusive flavours and collectible gifts.

Running for three months, the activation spans the airport’s South Node, North Node and Central Concourse, with a curated range comprising Matcha, Blueberry Cheesecake, Tokyo Shima Lemon and Otona no Amasa Dark Chocolate KitKat varieties.

Passengers purchasing any two KitKat Japan products will receive a complimentary Gachapon token, which can be redeemed for an exclusive collectible inspired by Japan’s capsule toy culture.

The activation takes inspiration from Japanese shopping streets, using red accents, Japanese-inspired graphics and immersive displays. Custom gondolas across all three locations feature illuminated displays and dedicated KitKat Japan branding.

An interactive Gachapon machine forms the centrepiece of the South Node activation, where eligible shoppers can use their token to receive a collectible.

The three-month campaign forms part of QDF’s focus on exclusive products and experience-led retail at Hamad International Airport, combining product discovery with Japanese cultural references and interactive elements.
