For the third year in a row, Qatar Duty Free is once again the tournament’s “Hole-in-One” sponsor offering professional participants a chance to win a Qatar Duty Free gift voucher worth US$155,000.

This prize is on offer to the first player gaining a tee shot in a single attempt at the 17th hole at the Doha Golf Club. Qatar Duty Free will also be selling a range of best-selling items in the public village ranging from confectionery, Canon cameras, sunglasses, binoculars, writing instruments, Samsung smart phones and Apple products at special prices and exclusively to tournament visitors.

Visitors spending more than QR.350 ($86) will also receive a free gift, courtesy of Qatar Duty Free.

BIG PRESENCE FOR QATAR DUTY FREE

A highlight of the Qatar Duty Free stand is a golf simulator for golf enthusiasts to practice their best shot. Visitors can purchase the simulator from QDF, with installation and delivery also arranged.

The prestigious golf event has already seen some of the world’s leading golf players descend on Qatar’s capital city for the annual sporting extravaganza and thousands of spectators are expected to turn out to watch world-renowned golfers play during the tournament which ends on Saturday 26 January.

This year’s line-up of international stars includes former US Major winner Paul Lawrie from Scotland, German Martin Kaymer, part of Team Europe’s incredible victory at the 2012 Ryder Cup, plus ten-time European Tour winner Spaniard Sergio Garcia and the World Number One Ranked Under 15, German Dominic Foos.

Qatar Duty Free Senior Vice-President Keith Hunter said: “Every year the Qatar Masters gets even better, attracting more international stars who want to play here, and of course golf enthusiasts who travel to Doha especially for the four-day event held on the beautiful Peter-Harradine designed Doha Golf Club course.

12,000 SPECTATORS EXPECTED

“As the Official Retail Partner of the Qatar Masters for the third year running, we are honoured to be part of such a prestigious tournament that is now firmly positioned as a major event on Qatar’s sporting calendar.

“This year we expect to see around 12,000 spectators visit our stand to take advantage of the wonderful promotions we have on offer, while enjoying watching some of the world’s best golf players in action on the course.”

As one of the fastest growing Duty Free operators in the world and the second largest duty free retailer in the Middle East, Qatar Duty Free is now preparing to move to its new location, spread over 25,000sq m at Hamad International Airport which is due to open this year.
