Syndicate of 10 scoops US$1m in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Draw

Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Draw 9 Nov 2022.

The draw for Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Series 405 took place earlier today in DIA’s T2.

A syndicate of 10 colleagues from All Cargo Logistics company in Dubai have collectively won US$1 million in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw, which was held earlier today at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 2.

The lucky ticket holder, Alex Varghese, a 37-year-old Indian national, became the latest dollar millionaire in the Millennium Millionaire Series 405 with ticket number 2543, which he purchased online along with his colleagues on 28 October.

A resident of Dubai for 12 years, Varghese and his colleagues have been participating in the promotion for a few years, alternating the name on the ticket for each series when buying them online.

“This is the first time we purchased the ticket in my name and I’m extremely happy that we have finally won,” said Varghese. “Thank you to everyone involved in this amazing promotion.”

Varghese is the 198th Indian national to have won US$1 million since the start of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999.

Today’s Millennium Millionaire draw was conducted by: Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman & EVC, Colm McLoughlin; Chief Operating Officer, Ramesh Cidambi; Salah Tahlak, Joint Chief Operating Officer; Sinead El Sibai, SVP – Marketing; Sharon Beecham, SVP – Purchasing; Michael Schmidt, SVP – Retail; Mona Al Ali, SVP – HR; and Zayed Al Shebli, SVP – Loss Prevention and Corp. Security.

Luxury cars and motorbikes won in Finest Surprise draw

The Finest Surprise draw was also conducted for two luxury cars and two motorbikes.

Justin Jose, a 41-year-old Indian national living in Dubai, won a BMW X6 M50i (Mineral White Metallic) car in Series 1820 with ticket number 0058, which he purchased online on 22 October.

The Dubai Duty Free officials conducted the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise draw for two luxury cars and two motorbikes.

“It is indeed a pleasant surprise for me and family,” said Jose, who has worked at Emirates Airlines ticketing counter for 15 years.

“I have been trying my luck in the Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise promotion for years now and I’m thrilled that my perseverance has paid off.”

Another luxury car winner who celebrated today is Schade Ulrich, a 64-year-old German national living in Berlin whose ticket no. 1163 in Series 1821 won him a Mercedes Benz AMG GT 43 (Spectral Blue Metallic).

“My wife and I love to spend holidays in Dubai and we never miss a chance to buy a ticket in the Finest Surprise promotion, we’re excited to have won such a beautiful car with Dubai Duty Free,” he said.

Two more winners were announced today each one winning a BMW motorbike in the Finest Surprise Promotion.

Shibin K. Jose, an Indian national living in Dubai won a BMW F 900 XR (Black Storm Metallic) motorbike in the Series 518 with ticket no. 0570 while Pillai Venkata, an Indian national living in Sharjah won a BMW R nineT Scrambler (Kalamata Metallic Matt) motorbike in Series 519 with ticket no. 0119.

Both of these winners were not available for immediate comment.
