The addition of Dubai means Coindrum now operates in seven countries across the globe (Italy, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland).
Since launching at Dublin Airport at The Loop Duty Free with ARI in 2014, Coindrum has forged partnerships with many global travel retailers including Dufry, Lagardère Travel Retail, Heinemann and International Duty Free.
Coindrum CEO Lukas Decker commented: “The addition of Dubai to our network is a great achievement for us. It just confirms that even in the world’s greatest airports there is always room for something new. With our other installations and current pipeline around the world Coindrum is fast becoming a recognisable airport brand desired by passengers.”
Dubai Duty Free grew its retail turnover by 5.6% to reach $1.93bn in 2017 from a base of 88.2m pax and posted growth of +10.6% in Q1 this year.
Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free added: “The Coindrum service is a welcome addition to Dubai and fits in with our belief in innovative solutions to meet the customer’s needs. It’s great to see another Irish success story in our industry”.
