London-based design house, The Design Solution, has worked on Abu Dhabi Airport’s Midfield Terminal Building (MTB) from the start and describes it as “one of the greatest duty free projects on the planet – ever”.

That praise was lauded by The Design Solution Director, Nick Taylor, who adds: “This was a journey where we pulled out all the stops, thought differently, and not only rose to ADAC’s unparalleled challenge, but delivered innovative design even beyond our own expectations. For that, I am immensely proud of the entire team here in London.”

Operator, ADAC (Abu Dhabi Airports Co) hired The Design Solution for the master planning of the terminal [due to open at the end of 2017] and one of the DF&TR contract winners, Aer Rianta International, then approached the design group to create its retail concept for the beauty, sunglasses and jewellery categories.
