Qatar Duty Free pushes 633% growth for Venchi at Hamad

Qatar Duty Free (QDF) teamed up with Italian gourmet chocolate brand Venchi this month to execute an airport-wide campaign at Hamad International that produced tasty sales growth of more than 600%.

The travel retailer and chocolate house marked World Chocolate Day on 7 July with a full takeover at the terminal to entice confectionery lovers, with sales value over a three-day period surging 633% week-on-week.

A high visibility digital communications campaign executed across more than 800 screens coupled with a broad social media presence and a 20% discount offer on all Venchi products for travellers at the Venchi boutique and Venchi store.

Campaign exclusive line drives purchase

Aside presenting a tailored retail selection at the stores, QDF added sales impetus with a campaign-specific line offering passengers the opportunity to purchase either 100g or 200g bundles as last-minute gifts.

Situated in the central concourse, the Venchi store also benefitted from the campaign that drove close to a 100% increase in sales.

Venchi showcased a number of signature chocolate and ice creams to tantalise shoppers’ tastebuds, including 16 gelato flavours served in gourmet cones or cups coated with chocolates from the suprema chocolate fountain.
