Kirker Greer Spirits grows travel retail reach with Nigab partnership
By Naomi Chadderton |
Kirker Greer Spirits has strengthened its presence in global travel retail through a new partnership with Nigab Nordic Duty Free & Travel Retail, adding fresh momentum to its expansion across the channel.
The agreement broadens the company’s footprint in the Nordics – a region where premiumisation, authenticity and flavour exploration continue to shape purchasing behaviour among travelling consumers. Ukiyo Japanese Spirits and Born Irish Whiskey have already secured listings across Calle and Fleggaard stores as well as Scandlines Bordershops, with further opportunities under discussion.
For Nigab, the addition of Kirker Greer’s portfolio enhances its independent spirits offer with brands known for their liquid quality, contemporary design and strong shelf presence. A dedicated Ukiyo Gin campaign, live from October to December in Scandlines Bordershops, is helping to drive visibility and trial among Scandinavian passengers seeking distinctive spirits experiences.
“Partnering with Kirker Greer Spirits allows us to continue strengthening Nigab’s premium independent spirits offering while responding to clear market trends in premiumisation and discovery,” said Fredrik Hjelm, Brand Manager/Commercial Manager – Travel Retail Spirits at Nigab. He described Ukiyo and Born Irish as brands that stand out “both in presentation and performance”, adding that the distributor looks forward to building their regional success.
Ryan McFarland, Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer at Drinksology Kirker Greer, said the listings represent a significant milestone in the company’s three-year travel retail strategy. “Nigab’s market expertise, operational excellence and commitment to premium independent spirits make them the perfect partner for us,” he commented. “Together we’re connecting their customers with on-trend flavours and categories through award-winning liquids, packaging and brands.”
Kirker Greer Spirits’ ambitions in travel retail form part of a wider push to grow international distribution for its premium portfolio, which includes Ukiyo Japanese Spirits, Born Irish Whiskey, Jawbox Gin and Kirker Irish Whiskeys. The company said its aim is to offer operators and travellers a combination of innovation, quality and design-led appeal across a curated set of premium spirits.
