Tallinks new Baltic Queen

AS Tallink Grupp's subsidiary Tallink High Speed Line Ltd has taken delivery of its new 212-metre long cruise ferry, the Baltic Queen from the STX Europe shipyard in Rauma, Finland.


The new ship will feature a total shopping area of 1,200sq m, with a travel retail market comprising 700sq m, a perfumery 300sq m and a gift shop 200sq m.
Restaurants will cater for gourmet, grill and buffet services, plaus a special Russian offering.

The M/S Baltic Queen has a capacity for 2,800 passengers and a 1,130 lane metre car deck for the vehicles. The new cruise ferry also features three large shops, 927 cabins, 12 restaurants and bars and a conference centre for more than 450 people. A special area with a playroom is available for the kids.

With a top speed of 24 knots the new vessel will start operations next week between Tallinn and Stockholm where she will replace Tallink's M/S Romantika which will be re-routed to the Riga-Stockholm service. The M/S Baltic Queen is the seventh new delivery for AS Tallink Grupp in the last seven years.
