Desigual set to open at São Paulo-Guarulhos Airport

By Kevin Rozario |

Spanish fashion brand Desigual will open a store at Brazil’s main gateway, São Paulo-Guarulhos Airport, in the first half of this year in time for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The Guarulhos unit is located in the new terminal three which will be inaugurated in the coming months.

Barcelona-based Desigual, known for its distinctive and colourful designs, says that the opening will be one of the brand’s most significant milestones this year and marks further expansion in Brazil with a store planned in Rio de Janeiro in May and a recent unit having already opened in Patio Higienópolis in São Paulo.

In three years, Desigual has opened 120 points of sale in key locations in the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Desigual increased its presence in North America in 2013 thanks to new stores in Houston, Vancouver, Detroit and most recently, a pop-up unit at Dallas Airport in January. Desigual is also extending its Miami airport store and plans key openings in the American market over the next year.

Desigual is currently present in 109 countries, with more than 400 retail stores, 11,000 multi-brand points of sale, 2,500 concessions in major departments stores, and online.
