Edrington loses Rémy Cointreau, gains WEBB in Americas deal

Spirits group, Edrington and World Equity Brand Builders (WEBB) are in the final stages of negotiations for an exclusive distribution partnership for duty free and travel retail in the Americas and the Caribbean.

 

The new agreement will replace Edrington’s previous distribution deal with Rémy Cointreau Travel Retail Americas, which ends on 15 January 2015.

 

Scotland-based Edrington owns a number of Scotch whisky and spirits brands including The Macallan, Brugal Rum, The Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark, Highland Park and Snow Leopard vodka.

 

Headquartered in Miami, WEBB specialises in marketing and distributing liquor brands in DF&TR and the Caribbean, as well as some Latin American markets. Founded in 2007, the company’s existing portfolio already includes Edrington brands. The new agreement will expand their relationship in DF&TR in the Americas.

WEBB believes that the proposed expansion will provide a platform for long term growth.
