3Sixty Duty Free and More has secured a 10-year duty free concession agreement at Ontario International Airport (ONT) in southern California.

The lease approved by the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) Board of Commissioners covers the opening of a new duty free outlet due to open in July 2022 at Terminal 2.

Under the terms of the agreement, 3Sixty will invest the capital required to prepare the retail space and pay a concession fee to OIAA.

“The Board of Commissioners is pleased to award this concession agreement to 3Sixty, with its extensive network of partners and diverse suppliers and the capabilities needed to provide the high-profile brands and customer experiences that Ontario travellers demand,” said Alan D. Wapner, President of the OIAA Board.

“This new concession agreement is further recognition of ONT’s emergence as a global gateway, providing a world-class experience for our loyal customers.”

NEW CONCESSIONS AT ONT

As a leading inflight retailer, 3Sixty Duty Free has forged alliances with the likes of Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Air Canada and runs duty free/duty paid stores at a number of international US airports including Dallas/Fort Worth, Newark and Orlando.

“3Sixty has over many years developed exceptional partnerships that have enabled our company to interpret traveller needs and align these to our partners brand’s expectations while developing leading retail experiences including omni-channel retail,” said Alex Anson, Chief Operating Officer, 3Sixty Duty Free.

3Sixty will add to its US airports duty free shop network, where it operates at the likes of Fort Lauderdale International (pictured).

“We are excited to bring all of this to Ontario International Airport and realise the duty free retail opportunity, enhancing the overall passenger experience.”

ONT has bolstered its concessions presence in the past 12 months with the addition of Dunkin’ Donuts, Chick-Fil-A and Subway, all of which are due to open this year.

The addition of the duty free concession strengthens the airport’s position as a major aviation gateway in southern California.

“This is a major step forward in the expansion of our retail options at ONT,” added Atif Elkadi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, OIAA.

“We are delighted to welcome 360 Duty Free to be part of the ONT family, and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership as we continue to grow and develop our business and passenger numbers.

“As our international traffic and destinations continues to grow, the addition of a world-class duty free outlet will enhance the width and breadth of our retail offerings and add significant value to our customer experience.”

As revealed by TRBusiness, 3Sixty Duty Free is set to unearth a spate of new shop openings and refurbishments across its US airports duty free store network in 2022.
