The Toronto Duty Free shop at YYZ is Avolta’s newest duty free store at the hub.
Avolta has opened its new Toronto Duty Free shop in Toronto Pearson International Airport’s (YYZ) Terminal 3, featuring a collection of Canadian-made products alongside a curated selection of wine, spirits and confections.
The store, delivered under the Dufy brand, stretches more than 170sqm and forms part of the first phase of the airport’s retail revitalisation.
Indeed, plans are already underway to expand the location, adding approximately 340sqm of concessions space featuring luxury cosmetics and fragrance brands.
The Toronto Duty Free shop marks first of several new stores planned as part of Avolta’s collaboration with Greater Toronto Airports Authority, with the joint aim of elevating the retail experience at YYZ, which welcomed 46.8 million passengers in 2024.
“Our new Toronto Duty Free store greatly expands the duty-free offerings at Toronto Pearson and is the first phase of a significant retail revitalisation taking place in the coming months and years,” said Kate Herzig, Executive Vice President, Duty Free North America & Canada Operations, Avolta.
“We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Greater Toronto Airports Authority as we continue to make travellers happier during their journey through Toronto Pearson – part of our vision to create a travel experience revolution.”
Travellers visiting the store, which is located near Gate C36, can enjoy a taste of Canada by discovering homegrown brands such as Ontario’s own Peller Estates wine, Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers, Turkey Hill’s famous maple syrup and Sundance Seafood as well as Avolta’s private label Exploring Canada.
Toronto Duty Free also features globally recognised brands in these best-selling duty free categories including Toblerone, Lindt, Godiva, Johnnie Walker, Grey Goose and Patrón.
“We’re always working to enhance the passenger experience at Toronto Pearson, and that includes expanding the range of retail options available,” said Kurush Minocher, Interim Chief Commercial Officer, Toronto Pearson.
“This exciting new duty-free store is another step toward offering travellers more choice, greater convenience, and an elevated shopping experience when they pass through our airport.”
Over the next few weeks, travellers passing through Terminal 3 who are members of the Club Avolta loyalty programme can also take the chance to unwind within the new Toronto Duty Free store in a special VIP area.
Here, Dufry has created a unique, members-only experience, inviting travellers to relax and enjoy complimentary tastings prior to their flight.
Club Avolta members who then decide to shop at Toronto Duty Free can enjoy special member pricing in addition to the duty free savings.
Dufry currently operates nearly 50,000sqft of duty free concessions space in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of Toronto Pearson.
Its stores feature luxury brands such as Chanel, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Dior, MAC, Burberry, Ferragamo, Longchamp, Omega and Bulgari, among others.
