Bonton Farms makes travel retail debut with WHSmith at DFW

The new store at DFW will be Bonton Farms’ first location outside South Dallas.

WHSmith North America is partnering with Dallas nonprofit Bonton Farms to open a new retail concept at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) this autumn.

Located in Terminal A near Gate A17, the store will be Bonton Farms’ first location outside South Dallas and will introduce its products and community-focused mission to an international traveller audience.

The assortment will include locally produced honey, handmade jams, goat milk soaps, grab-and-go food, apparel and gifts, alongside products created by ‘Bontonpreneurs’ taking part in the organisation’s business development initiatives.

“At WHSmith North America, we are committed to creating meaningful retail experiences that reflect the communities we serve,” said Huw Crwys-Williams, Chief Executive Officer, WHSmith North America. “Bonton Farms is more than a local brand. It is an organisation creating lasting impact across Dallas and the wider Metroplex area. We are proud to partner with them to introduce millions of travellers each year to products with a purpose while helping amplify a mission that is transforming lives.”

The opening also supports DFW Airport’s focus on showcasing local businesses and bringing a greater sense of North Texas to its commercial offer.

Bonton Farms began as a small beekeeping operation in South Dallas’ Bonton neighbourhood and has since expanded into a nonprofit organisation operating farms, markets, a coffeehouse, preservatory and farm-to-table café. Its wider programmes span areas including workforce development, education, health and wellness, housing and economic opportunity.

“This opening represents an exciting milestone for Bonton Farms and the community we serve,” said Mark Jones, President & CEO of Bonton Farms. “For the first time, our products and our story will reach travellers from around the world. Through this partnership with WHSmith North America, we’re creating new opportunities to share the mission of Bonton Farms while generating additional support for programs that help our neighbours thrive.”

The store will feature a design reflecting Bonton Farms’ South Dallas roots and is expected to open this autumn.
