BPI Canada takes on Salvatore Ferragamo scents

By Kevin Rozario |

Ferragamo Parfums has signed an exclusive multi-year agreement with Beauté Prestige International Canada (a division of the Paris-based luxury fragrance house of the same name that is owned by Japan’s Shiseido) for the sales, trade marketing and distribution of its fragrances in Canada.

The Italian fashion house’s scents have been distributed in Canada since 1998 and they are carried in several department and speciality stores in Canada, including Hudson’s Bay, Holt Renfrew, Sephora, Murale and select perfumeries.

“This partnership reinforces our collaboration with the BPI Group, with which we have settled an agreement for the US market in 2013, reflecting our long term strategy of teaming up with strong partners and aiming for a high level brand positioning,” says Luciano Bertinelli (left), CEO of Ferragamo Parfums. “We are sure that BPI Canada will play a crucial role in developing our business in the Canadian market.”

Fragrances accounted for 7% of Salvatore Ferragamo Group’s total revenues in the nine months to September 2013. Sales in the period reached €7.75m ($10.5m) and grew by +10.4% at constant exchange rates. The only product category that performed better was leather goods at +17.7%.
