Brazilian air controllers strike ends

By Administrator |

Brazilian airports have reopened after air traffic controllers called off their hunger strike which briefly resulted in the suspension of all flights out of Brazil's major airports, although planes were still able to land.

The air traffic controllers were protesting about working conditions but were persuaded to go back to work by government negotiators and trade unions yesterday.
Thousands of passengers were stranded at airports across Brazil as a result of the action and there may be more of the same next week as civilian controllers vote on a national strike this coming Monday.
