Dufry opens refurbished duty free store at Mexico City Airport’s T2

Dufry is celebrating the official opening of its refurbished 1,138 sqm main duty free store in Terminal 2 at Mexico City International Airport (AICM – Aeropuerto Internacional de Ciudad de México).
Representatives from the retailer and the airport met on 15 December to inaugurate the refreshed store, with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening.
“We are extremely proud of the valued partnership we have with AICM and are delighted to join them to officially open this impressive new store,” said Jose Luis Ramos; Country General Manager for Dufry Mexico, who was in attendance.
“This airport is the main hub in Mexico, welcoming almost 50 million domestic and international passengers annually.
“With the refurbishment of the store, we have been able to introduce many engaging and exciting new elements and really reflect the great spirit and culture of Mexico.
“We look forward to continuing to deliver a first class shopping experience to each and every customer that visits Terminal 2.”
The fully refurbished duty free store offers all the core product categories of beauty, liquor, luxury accessories, tobacco and confectionery.
A highlight is the haute parfumerie area, which showcases a number of ‘sought after and niche’ fragrance brands.
Shoppers can also discover luxury shop-in-shop boutiques for brands including Hublot, Montblanc and Carolina Herrera.
At the Tequileria tasting area, consumers can sample the ‘many exceptional tequila brands’ available to buy.
Dynamic, digital in-store communication and strong promotional areas elevate the experience.

The refurbished duty free store has a haute parfumerie area, luxury shop in shops and a Tequileria tasting area.
Also in attendance at the official opening on behalf of Dufry was Rodolfo Velasco; President Adviser for Dufry Mexico.

Dufry already has a strong presence in the airport’s Terminal 2, with six duty free shops and two Hudson convenience stores.
