Dufry Group has been operating at Sangster International Airport in Jamaica since 2012.

Dufry Group has finalised its new concession agreement at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

As first reported last September, MBJ Airports Limited awarded Dufry three packages in a tender for 29 speciality retail and duty free stores at the airport.

The expansion and redevelopment of the retail space is among several plans to further expand and modernise the airport.

Under the terms of the agreement, Dufry can considerably expand its presence at the main airport in Jamaica, by increasing the retail space from 1,800sq m to 2,260sq m. It can also offer an extended product assortment to the 4.6 million travellers visiting the airport annually.

The agreement comprises a new five-year duty free contract effective August 2021. This includes a newly designed walk-through shop, two last-minute duty free shops and a duty free arrival shop.

STRONG CORE CATEGORY OFFER

Core categories such as perfume and cosmetics, spirits, food and confectionery and tobacco, complemented by watches and jewellery, accessories, electronics and luggage are part of the duty free offering.

The second part of the agreement is the six-year duty-paid concession effective June 2021, which includes several of Dufry’s specialised shop concepts.

Concepts include Tech-On-The-Go for electronics; Spirit of Jamaica for souvenirs and the typical Hudson convenience shop offering a vast assortment of travel essentials. The new shops are spread across the whole airport to best serve both domestic and international travellers.
