Essence Corp rallies support for Hurricane Dorian relief efforts

Essence-Corp-HurricaneDorianBeauty distributor and agent Essence Corp has joined disaster relief efforts in the Bahamas following the devastating impact of Hurricane Dorian.

The firm, which works extensively across the Americas and Caribbean travel retail markets, has donated to World Central Kitchen Inc.

Internationally recognised chef Jose Andres has collaborated with local Bahamian chefs Tim and Rebecca Tibbitts to establish mobile kitchens in Abaco, Grand Bahama and Nassau to dish out 2,000 meals a day to Bahamian residents in shelters and damaged homes.

Essence Corp has donated to Word Central Kitchen, which is helping to deliver tens of thousands of meals per day to survivors of Hurricane Dorian.

“Together, they are committed to doing whatever it takes to get food to the people who need it most, be it by boat, helicopter or plane,” said Essence Corp in a statement. “Donations of all sizes are what is fuelling this amazing work.”

In addition, Essence Corp is assisting 11 of its own beauty advisors in the Bahamas affected by Dorian.

The Bahamas was battered for nearly 40 hours by the powerful Atlantic hurricane earlier this month, which killed at least 40, say government officials. Hundreds are also missing, with an estimated 70,000 homeless, although that number could be much higher.

As reported, Bacardi has also pledged financial support and assistance to the disaster relief and recovery efforts.
