Paradies Lagardère and TripAdvisor have highlighted the arrival of a new travel retail store as part of their partnership at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in Terminal 1, domestic.
In addition to offering ‘all the travel essentials’, the new store is also offering customers ’quick access’ the 570m-plus reviews and opinions related to 7.3m accommodations, restaurants and attractions, via the store’s unique in-store touchscreens.
[This latest store opening is part of the partnership between Paradies Lagardère and TripAdvisor, which began in 2016. Both partners plan to introduce three more TripAdvisor concepts in 2018 in the US airports of Raleigh–Durham, George Bush Intercontinental and Phoenix Sky Harbor–Ed].
GOOD POTENTIAL IF THE CONCEPT IS WELL PROMOTED
Paradies Lagardère adds that the store also offers a large interactive screen that travellers can access for more information about the city of Toronto and its surrounding areas, while they are also able to read the latest TripAdvisor reviews and view traveller photos for nearby hotels, attractions, restaurants, along with other subjects of interest to help them during their journey.

USEFUL INTERACTIVE TOOL IS A MAJOR DRAW…
Commenting on the initiative, Paradies Lagardère President and CEO Gregg Paradies said: “What’s most exciting about introducing the world’s very first-ever TripAdvisor travel essential store is that we’ve incorporated an interactive tool that’s not only entertaining and fun, but is truly useful in helping travellers.
“This unique store is a great addition to the Toronto Pearson programme and an exciting destination for its guests.”
Adding her comments, Nicole Brown, Senior Director of Brand Partnerships, TripAdvisor said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Paradies Lagardère and extending the reach of the TripAdvisor brand into the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
“The TripAdvisor travel retail store concept allows us to further our mission of helping travellers worldwide plan and book the perfect trip by offering them a convenient way to purchase all the travel essentials, as well as quick access to our more than 570 million reviews and opinions on 7.3m accommodations, restaurants and attractions via innovative in-store touchscreens.”
