Fraport signs new five-year contract at Cleveland Airport

Fraport USA-owned Airmall Cleveland reports it has signed a new five-year contract extension as developer and manager of the retail concessions programme at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) – with effect from January 16 2019.

 

The company reports that the extension agreement incorporates multiple aspects of the business, including the design, construction, lease and management of all retail merchandise, plus F&B facilities across the entire airport.

Commenting on the successful negotiation, Ben Zandi, President and CEO Fraport USA said: “We are pleased to continue our valuable partnership with Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and city and airport officials.

 

“We look forward to creating more breakthrough opportunities for small businesses and adding to a strong mix of local and national concepts with programmes that deliver a best-in-class experience for passengers and the community at large.”

SALES PER DEPARTING PAX UP 88% TO $10.46.

With just a few weeks to go, airport officials are now forecasting that total passenger traffic at Cleveland Hopkins will pass the nine million mark in 2017, matching a similar record high back in 2014.

 

Since 2008, Airmall Cleveland claims to have ‘transformed the retail and dining program at CLE by doubling the amount of concession space to approximately 60,000sq ft with 51 units, with concessions employment up by 60% and sales per departing passenger up by 88% to $10.46.
