Hudson secures three-year contract extension at BWI

The announcement of the contract extension in Baltimore follows the opening of the world’s largest Hudson Group store in Atlanta earlier this month.
Hudson Group has announced the three-year extension of its retail operations at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
The contract extension awarded by Fraport Maryland includes over 15,900sq ft in retail space and conversion of two Hudson News locations to Hudson store concepts.
BWI Marshall Airport is the 22nd busiest airport in the United States and busiest in the Baltimore-Washington region. The airport surpassed 26m passengers in 2017, recording record passenger traffic for the third successive year.
This latest development is part of a busy but successful period for the retailer, which recently opened the world’s largest Hudson Group store in Atlanta, signed a seven-year contract extension in Rochester and completed the development of its new Hudson convenience shop in Sharjah.
Ricky Smith, Executive Director, BWI Marshall Airport said: “Our world-class concessions programme delivers a high-level of service and quality products. We are pleased to continue working with Hudson Group to provide an excellent travel experience for our passengers.”
Bret Kelly, Vice President, Fraport Maryland remarked: “Fraport and Hudson Group share the goal of exceeding the expectations of the BWI Marshall traveller. They’ve been a long time partner of ours and we’re pleased that we’ll be working together into the future.”
Joseph DiDomizio (left) President and Chief Executive Officer, Hudson Group is relishing the opportunity to continue the partnership. “Hudson Group is excited to bring its innovative travel essentials and convenience brand, Hudson, to the passengers of BWI Marshall.
“We thank Fraport Maryland and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport for their continued partnership and look forward to building out our shared vision to meet the ever-changing needs of passengers.”
