JFKIAT appoints Roel Huinink as new CEO from 1 August

Roel Huinink will assume the role of JFKIAT CEO effective 1 August.

JFK International Air Terminal LLC (JFKIAT), which manages New York John F Kennedy Terminal 4 has appointed Roel Huinink as Chief Executive Officer effective 1 August.

Huinink will replace Gert-Jan de Graaff who has served as President and CEO since 2014 and is set to assume the role of Brisbane Airport Corporation Chief Executive Officer.

Currently serving as Program Director at The Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB, a Netherlands-based organisation offering a wide range of services in the areas of recreation, tourism and mobility, Huinink will oversee day-to-day operations at Terminal 4.

An international transportation executive with two decades of leadership in business development, commercial management and marketing consulting, he commented: “Throughout my career, I’ve gained invaluable experiences across several areas of airport management.

PEOPLE PERSON

“Having the opportunity to channel this expertise – in conjunction with my passion for people management and a results-driven leadership approach – for this new role at the New York-area’s most active air terminals is a tremendous honour.”

A member of the Management Board between 2014 and 2017, Huinink currently sits on the advisory board of Norwegian-based Airport Retail Group.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Rygge SivileLufthavn A/S – operator of Moss Airport in Rygge, Norway.

He has a 15-year history with Royal Schiphol Group, where he held various management positions from 1999 to 2014. These include Arlanda Schiphol Development Company Managing Director and Director of Parking & Mobility Services at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

He added: “I am both eager and proud to return to the Royal Schiphol Group family and assume the role of JFKIAT CEO. I look forward to embarking on this next phase of my career at Terminal 4.”

New York John F Kennedy Terminal 4 handles around 21 million passengers annually with more than 122,200sq ft (11,334sq m) devoted to shopping and dining – featuring 48 retail shops and 28 restaurants.
