Miami-based wines & spirits distributor Webb Banks has appointed Jose Castellvi in the newly created role of Vice President, Travel Retail and Spirits.
Castellvi will take charge of the company’s growing spirits division, including developing and growing relationships with duty free partners.
He bolsters the senior leadership team, comprising Phillip Jarrel, Kam Snow and Juan Carlos Rodriguez, and reports to Webb Banks CEO Andy Consuegra.
Castellvi joins from William Grant & Sons, where he spent 16 years in various positions across Latin America and the Caribbean.
His experience includes six years as President of Bacardi Dominicana SA in the Dominican Republic and before that was General Manager of United Distillers in the region.
Consuegra said: “We’re excited to welcome Jose to the team. His decades of supplier and distributor management experience, as well as his extraordinary wine and spirits knowledge, will be invaluable as we continue to position Webb Banks for future growth.
“Twenty twenty will undoubtedly be a challenging period for our industry, but we’re very proud of our success and accomplishments last year and with Jose’s help we’re looking forward to building on that now in 2021.”
Castellvi added: “In the 1950s, my father was a liquor distributor in Cuba and I’m very proud to have followed in his footsteps, spending the past 30-plus years in this dynamic industry.
“It’s definitely a highlight of my career, joining Andy and the talented team at Webb Banks to grow distribution in the region and help this organisation continue to reach new heights and continued success.”
Webb Banks distributes to travel retail in the Americas, among other channels, and has a portfolio including brands such as Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Disaronno, The Macallan, Penfolds and Jägermeister.
