Local approach yields 10-year win for Hudson at Burlington

Burlington International Airport (BTV) in Vermont has rewarded Dufry-owned Hudson Group with a 10-year contract for his commitment to local ‘sense of place’ retailing.
A Hudson Group Burlington joint-venture will preside over 3,182sq ft of retail space including three Vermont eccentric travel essentials and convenience stores, as it cements a concession held since 2003.
Gene Richards, Director of Aviation at BTV said: “Burlington International Airport is northern New England’s most convenient and welcoming airport.
“With iconic tourist destinations just minutes and hours away from BTV, Hudson Group’s localized retail concept of ‘Vermont Reinforcing Vermont’ provides passengers with a local sense of place, reminding them of all the wonderful attractions and products that are unique to the Vermont area.”
CUSTOMISED RETAIL
The three stores include Discover Vermont/Hudson, a travel essentials and local gift and souvenir concept located pre-security; Lake Chaplain News, offering snacks, beverages, portable electronics, travel accessories and themed souvenirs in post-security near gate 11; and Mount Mansfield News, another post-security travel essentials and convenience unit.
“For over 15 years, Hudson Group has catered to the ever-evolving needs and preferences of passengers at Burlington International Airport through our customised and local retail approach,” added Joseph DiDomizio, President and CEO of Hudson Group.
“Combined with our well-organised, comfortable and easy-to-shop store designs and layouts, we have an overall exceptional retail experience for travellers.”
