London Supply to double Puerto Iguazu store
By Charlotte Turner |
Argentinean duty free operator London Supply is planning to double the size of its highly successful Puerto Iguazu duty free border store.
The extremely popular outlet is to increase in size from 4,000 to more than 9,000sq m this year, according to Commercial Director, Maggie Ducos: “Obviously, this has been a huge move and we have been spending a great deal of time making sure we are preparing the store to make it the very best shopping experience for our customers.
“There will be lots of new and exciting things. Perfumes and cosmetics will triple in size. We will have a M.A.C shop within shop, a specialist wine store, a stand-alone sunglasses store, a specialist multi brand sports shop, and a delicatessen.”
Ducos said the expansion will also give the operator a chance to tidy up its present store: “Our passageways have become too cluttered and we can now remedy this. We will be reforming our fashion area and we will be improving the way we set out our Home and Design section.”
IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION CHANGES
Ducos is also leading the team that will project the image of the new store to the visitors to the area. She said: “We have been looking long and hard at our communication and we will be making some important changes to how we market the new store to travellers to the Iguazu region.”
The retailer plans to incorporate a new logo for the store and a new advertising campaign shortly after the improved and enlarged store reopens.
“With the expanded store we can give the brands the right amount of space so that we can present the brands better and develop sales and improve promotions,” commented Ducos.
She added: “With the new store, we will have 800 people working for the company in Puerto Iguazu and that makes us one of the biggest employers in the province. We owe our success to our people who strongly identify with what we are doing and we try hard to give something back to their community.”
