Buenos-Aires based travel retail specialist London Supply has completed its 2009 London Supply Golf Trophy to raise funds for the children's cancer charity ? the Peluffo-Giguens Foundation.
The tournament took place last month at the Club del Lago Golf Club in the Uruguayan resort town of Punta del Este, with more than 110 players participating. The event has been running for five years now and is largely considered a ‘classic’ for many golfers from Argentina and Uruguay who take vacations in the seaside town around this time.
London Supply told TREND that more than $35,645 was raised in donations from sponsors and other friends of the company and a further $11,850 was raised from raffles, making a grand total of $47,495. The company says that the money will be used by the Foundation to make life more comfortable for children suffering from leukaemia and other cancers throughout Uruguay.
This charitable endeavour from London Supply follows the earlier announcement that The London Supply Foundation – a charitable trust managed by the Argentine duty free operator and airport manager -is also to build a school in the Primera de Mayo district of Puerto Iguazu in the province of Misiones.
