In 2022, Maui Jim became part of Kering Eyewear, which belongs to the global Luxury group Kering.

Maui Jim has opened its first store at Crystal Court Shoppes, a destination-resort and tax free shopping centre on Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, featuring an extensive collection of the brand’s lifestyle sunglasses.

“The Bahamas is the ideal home for a brand synonymous with cutting-edge eyewear that blends performance, style, and life on the water,” said Rodney Chee-A-Tow, CEO of Carlo, who added: “As a long-time partner of Kering Eyewear, this store represents a natural evolution for us, following the successful launch of our innovative Digital Retail Concept, which showcases many of the world’s top designer eyewear brands at another Atlantis location.”

Emanuele Lasagna, Head of Global Travel Retail for Kering, commented: “Our partnership with Carlo continues to thrive with the opening of the first Maui Jim store in the Caribbean. This launch not only highlights our shared commitment to innovation and premium retail experiences, but also reinforces the natural connection between the Maui Jim lifestyle and the vibrant, ocean-driven spirit of the Bahamas.

Building on the success of our Digital Retail Concept at Atlantis, this new store sets a benchmark for how authentic brand storytelling and destination retail can come together seamlessly.”

To celebrate this milestone, Maui Jim chose Father’s Day weekend to debut the store with in-store events, exclusive activations, and the arrival of its custom Maui Jim boat.

Guests enjoyed personalised sunglass cases and private boat rides as part of this one-of-a-kind brand experience.
