Motta ATTENZA brand expansion
By Doug Newhouse |
Motta Internacional’s ATTENZA Duty Free brand has been awarded the exclusive duty free contract at the New Quito International Airport in Ecuador by Corporación Quiport S.A.
Motta will operate its corporate retail brand over 1,152sq m, incorporating multi-category duty free offers from an 886sq m walk-through departure store and a 266sq m arrivals outlet, with both due to open in the fourth quarter of this year. The first store will be located after immigration counters before entering the international departures’ area.
The retailer says that the New Quito International Airport is ‘one of a kind in the region’, as the first in South America incorporating ‘a completely new infrastructure’ allowing for higher traffic, increased capacity and use by larger aircraft.
Commenting on the new development, Motta CEO Erasmo Orillac said: “We are very excited about our new project in Quito after 10 years of absence. ATTENZA Duty Free will bring our distinguished shopping experience to all the passengers travelling through this new airport.”
The company adds that the news it has won the Quito business follows the earlier award of one of two departure duty free stores – plus the exclusive arrival store – at Bogotá’s new El Dorado Airport in Colombia.
In related news, Domenica Carbone has been appointed as the new Marketing Manager for Motta Internacional’s duty free store brand ATTENZA Duty Free.
