Orlando Airport’s new Terminal C to showcase local and national brands

By Charlotte Turner |

When it opens later this year, Terminal C at Orlando International Airport will ‘highlight a combination of local flavours and national brands’ and shine a spotlight on engaging shopping experiences.

Terminal C (otherwise known as South Terminal Complex) will open over a two-week period in September with international operations beginning on 19th and domestic operations on 26th.

“Our dynamic concessions program for the new terminal features everything the modern traveller could want in the way of eating, drinking and shopping during their trip through Florida’s busiest airport,” said Yovannie Rodriguez, Chief Administrative Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA).

“With more than 80,000 square feet of concession space, we were able to bring concepts to life in a way that meets the diverse needs of passenger demand and continues our delivery of The Orlando Experience.”

ON LOCATION TOUR IN 2016

TRBusiness was treated to a tour of the airport – guided by Tracy-Conner Harris Manager of Concessions and Carolyn M. Fennell Senior Director of Public Affairs and Community Relations, from the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) – and viewed the construction site of the new STC back in 2016.

“Close partnerships with these local theme park leaders allowed GOAA leaders and the construction teams to push their boundaries and imaginations to create one-of-a-kind shopping experiences that could only be found in Orlando,” said the airport authority.

According to the GOAA, 93% of the concessions in Terminal C will be located beyond the security checkpoints with the remaining offerings pre-security.

“At every turn, Terminal C guests will be able to experience a variety of amazing shopping and dining offerings that are unique to Orlando while also enjoying the regional and national brands that they know and love,” said Conner-Harris, Assistant Director of Concessions for GOAA.

News and gifts will be provided by Gatlin Trade among a couple of others.

MORE THAN 24 FOOD AND BEVERAGE OPTIONS

Other shopping options include newsstand and gift shop options like The Scoop, Gatlin Trade, Sunglass Hut and Brighton, while all-new City Arts Market will feature products created by local artists.

GOAA is pleased to confirm that Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise for this new terminal exceeds overall airport goals with at least 30 percent participation.

The program is designed to ensure opportunities for small businesses who wish to participate in concession opportunities at Orlando International Airport.
