Paradies Lagardère brings five local concepts to Portland Airport

Each concept draws on a different element of the region, such as the history of The Skanner News.

Paradies Lagardère has opened five new retail concepts at Portland International Airport (PDX), with each designed to showcase local brands, products and the culture of the Pacific Northwest.

Developed in partnership with the Port of Portland, the new openings comprise The Skanner News, Sheridan Fruit Company, Market 503, Rose City Market and Cascade Market.

Each concept draws on a different element of the region, from the history of The Skanner News and century-old Sheridan Fruit Company to Portland’s rose heritage at Rose City Market and the Pacific Northwest landscape at Cascade Market.

“PDX reflects our region with pride in everything we do. Our partnership with Paradies Lagardère continues in that tradition, connecting travellers to more brands and products created right here in the Pacific Northwest,” said Port of Portland Chief Aviation Officer Dan Pippenger. “We’re excited to welcome even more local brands with deep community roots to PDX.”

The stores stock products from a range of local makers and businesses, including Portland-based Pan’s Mushroom Jerky and Moonstruck Chocolates, Beaverton-based HAB Sauce, Amity Artisan Goods, Portland Bee Balm and Little Bay Root.

“We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Portland International Airport by creating retail experiences that celebrate the local community in meaningful ways,” said Gregg Paradies, CEO of Paradies Lagardère. “These concepts honour Portland’s heritage, culture and entrepreneurial spirit while providing travellers with engaging shopping destinations that can only be found at PDX.”

The five openings form part of Portland International Airport’s wider focus on incorporating locally inspired concepts and regional businesses into its commercial offer.
