Paradies Lagardère opens four locally inspired retail concepts at SJC
By Naomi Chadderton |
Paradies Lagardère has opened four new retail concepts at San José Mineta International Airport, expanding its presence at the California gateway with a focus on local brands and Silicon Valley.
Developed in partnership with the airport, The Goods @ SJC with Hip & Humble, Plaza de San José, Poppy’s Essentials and SJC Exchange combine travel essentials, food and beverage, technology, gifts and locally sourced products.
The Goods @ SJC with Hip & Humble offers a curated selection of gifts and accessories, with the opening marking Paradies Lagardère’s eighth location developed with the boutique brand. Plaza de San José, on the other hand, has been designed around the culture and diversity of the city, offering local products, gifts and travel essentials. It also incorporates an iStore Express shop-in-shop carrying technology from brands including Apple, Bose, Beats, JBL and Skullcandy.
Poppy’s Essentials focuses on grab-and-go food, beverages and travel essentials, while SJC Exchange combines snacks and technology accessories with locally inspired merchandise.
The stores also showcase Bay Area producers including Daybreak Vietnamese Coffee, Santa Clara-based GingerLab and freeze-dried fruit snack producer Nokki Farm.
Passengers can also use a smoodi machine, which allows customers to prepare a fresh 16-ounce smoothie in one minute, with six flavours available.
“We’re proud to continue investing in locally inspired concepts that celebrate the communities we serve,” said Gregg Paradies, CEO of Paradies Lagardère. “These new stores showcase some of the very best brands and makers from the Bay Area while providing the convenience and quality today’s travelers expect. We’re especially grateful for our continued partnership with Hip & Humble and look forward to opening more locations together in the future.”
Mookie Patel, Director of Aviation at San José Mineta International Airport, said: “We want every part of the SJC experience to be simple, convenient and enjoyable and our retail offerings are an important part of that promise. These new concepts give travelers more choices while adding personality and a sense of place to the Airport. We’re grateful to Paradies Lagardère and our business partners for helping us continue to elevate the experience for SJC passengers.”
